Description
Multi-Tag was a program to change ID3 tags on a batch of MP3 files at once (e.g. writing the same artist tag to a directory full of MP3s by the same artist). The first version only supported the very simple ID3v1 format. Version 2.0 added support for ID3v2.3. Version 3.0 brought an improved GUI and improved backend code.
Comments
Multi-Tag was the first real program I wrote and the first program I released online. It was born out of wanting to be able to easily set the Artist tag to the same value on a bunch of MP3 files. I remember it being a challenge to write the ID3v2.3 parsing from scratch, but it was great experience. At the time I really insisted on writing everything myself.
